Sorin Grindeanu expressed his hope that by the end of next year it will be possible to drive along the entire length of the highways, connecting the DN1 and A2 roads. He mentioned as an important step forward that the second and third sections were connected, allowing the use of the A0 road from DN1 to DN2. He said that 20 kilometers of the second section were completed last year, but only half of it could be used due to previous design errors.
However, a two-kilometer section has now been opened, so the entire, unused nine-kilometer section has also become available. Regarding the future, he added that he is confident that by the end of 2025 the entire length of the highway will be opened from DN1 to A2. According to him, it is particularly important that the deadlines are met in the third and fourth stages, regardless of who will be in power or minister.
He also announced the opening of additional highway sections in the near future. In the next 10-15 days, the sections between Ploiești and Buzău will be put into traffic, and the third section between Buzău and Focșani will also be opened. Furthermore, the 16-kilometer section between Pitești and Băiculești will be handed over ahead of schedule. When asked when the southern section of the A0 will open, Grindeanu said that work is progressing well, although it is doubtful that it will be completed by the end of the year. However, it is expected to be put into traffic at the beginning of the year and completed by April at the latest.
