Národná diaľničná spoločnost (NDS) launched the public procurement for the construction of the section of the D3 highway between Kysucké Nové Mesto and Oščadnica. The necessary documentation was prepared in an accelerated procedure in a few months, which was announced in a press release. The tendered section of the D3 highway between Kysucké Nové Mesto and Oščadnica will be more than 9.6 kilometers long. This section is the middle part of the future Kysucká highway, which stretches between Žilina and Čadca. The costs of the project are expected to amount to 307 million euros without VAT, which corresponds to approximately 7.8 billion Czech crowns. As part of the development, 22 bridges, an intersection, a rest area and an animal migration corridor will be built.
"For us, the Kysucká highway is the most important project today. The construction of D3 will help the region, which suffers from constant traffic problems. In addition, it contributes to the fulfillment of Slovakia's international obligations within the framework of the Trans-European Transport Network," said the NDS. This section will be the second of the three missing sections of the Kysucká highway between Čadca and Žilina. The first part, Oščadnica – Čadca, Bukov, II. the search for the designer and contractor of the profile section began in May. The tender for the third section, specifically the Žilina, Brodno – Kysucké Nové Mesto section, is currently in the preparatory phase. After the construction of the Kysucká highway D3, it will also contribute to facilitating traffic between Třinec and Žilina. The lack of this was partially remedied almost four years ago by the completion of the six-kilometer section of the D3 highway near Čadca, which is mainly the route bypassing the city, where traffic jams of up to half an hour occurred at peak times. Slovakia has opened a new highway section in Kysucek towards the Czech border.
