There are countless sights to discover in Hungary that everyone should see at least once.
Budapest
When it comes to Hungarian landmarks, almost everyone first thinks of the capital. The most famous in Budapest - which are also popular with foreigners - are the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, and the Fisherman's Bastion in the Buda Castle District.
The Parliament, also known as the Parliament, is located on the left bank of one of the longest rivers, the Danube. The building itself was built in the neo-Gothic style and is the third largest building in the world, and is also considered a part of the World Cultural Heritage. With advance registration, it is possible to see the Parliament library, the Holy Crown and the coronation jewels inside the building, although the dome itself is also eye-catching.
The oldest bridge in the country is the Lánchíd, which connects Buda and Pest. It is well known, as it is also referred to as the symbol of Budapest, mainly because of the two stone lions on the bridgehead. Due to its continuous maintenance, it spans between the two cities in perfect condition to this day.
The Fisherman's Bastion boasts a beautiful view of the whole of Budapest in the Buda Castle District and is protected by the 7 Leaders.
Hortobágy
Hortobágy and its surroundings are warmly recommended to those looking for a rural atmosphere. Here, it is guaranteed that you can discover more than the nine-hole bridge and the inn. In the game park here, as well as in the Hortobágy National Park, you can learn about the "shepherd lifestyle" of the Hungarians, as several native animals live here to this day, for example gray cattle and rack sheep. You would think that it is difficult to get to, even though highway 33 leads right through this part of the Great Plain.
Szolnok "RepTár"
Many people may not have even heard of the Szolnok RepTár, even though this aviation history museum is unique among the countries of Eastern Europe. It is interesting that not only can you simulate the experience of flying, but you can also view planes and helicopters from the World War. The history of Hungarian aviation is presented interactively with engines, air defense devices and other historical pieces. Recommended for both adults and children. It is worth using the M4 motorway to get there.
