Construction works on the route of the future highway near Trutnov continue not only during the day, but also at night. Between Královec and Bernartice, where the D11 highway will be ready for the first time, six bridges, a multi-level interchange and the I/16 exit will be built. The temporary connection to the first class road will be used by drivers until the entire section between Trutnov and the Polish border is completed.
"The construction of the highway from Trutnov to the Polish border is an extremely difficult task. It is important to make the best use of the short period before winter," explained Zdeněk Ludvík, head of MI Roads. Workers are working with construction machinery at several points near Královec. At the moment, they are mostly working on the removal of topsoil. The fields are lined with trucks that the excavated earth is transported. The construction companies produce and move a total of four million cubic meters of earth, which is corresponds to a thousand fully loaded trucks. "Within ten days, we expect to start digging up the dykes and building the roads leading to the bridges.
At the same time, we are continuing to develop the foundation plans for the bridges, so that the laying of the foundations for the bridges can begin in the new year," said MI Roads spokesperson Michal Jurman. A total of 28 bridges are being built between Trutnov and the Polish border. Two half-thousand-meter tunnels will also be created, with separate level junctions. in Královec, Střítež and Poříčí, as well as ten noise barriers with a total length of 1,615 meters wall. "The three-and-a-half-kilometer highway leading to the state border is a priority, but in the spring we will certainly start work in other places, including Trutnov, where a complex overpass will be built," pointed out Jan Jelínek, the project manager.
