This year's highway renovations have reached half-time.
This year's highway renovation works have reached the halfway point, but in August, in addition to taking into account the increased transit traffic, pre-planned asphalting works will not be carried out on the M1 and M7 highways in either direction - announced the Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktura Fejlsztő Zrt. (MKIF ).
MKIF noted in its announcement that no work has been carried out on the M7 between the M0 and Balatonvilágos on the side leading to Lake Balaton since the beginning of the summer vacation. By August 1, the highway operator had replaced the aged, damaged pavement on more than 1.8 million square meters at 98 points in the country. In addition to the M1 and M7, works were also carried out on the M3, M15, M30 and M35 motorways, as well as the M4 motorway. During the course of this year, a total of 480 kilometers of lane length has been resurfaced in the expressway network, and 72 bridges and overpasses, as well as 9 rest areas, have been renewed in the country. 300,000 tons of asphalt were used to replace the pavement, and three quarters of the work took place on the M3 and M7, where 1.4 million square meters of new asphalt was laid.
The leveling works are expected to last until the end of November and the beginning of December. In the following years, large-scale renovations can be expected, which will result in the expansion of the M1, M3 and M7 motorways.
